Book Discussion and Museum Tour (grades 4 – 6 w/ their parent or an adult)

Book cover for One Dog and His Boy
Print Friendly

We’ve partnered with The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook for a unique program (grades 4 – 6 and their families) which includes a book discussion and an opportunity to tour parts of the museum.  This collaborative book club uses the museum to enhance book discussions – it’s a chance to share a one-of-a-kind reading experience, and we’re thrilled to offer it to Three Village.

Sunday, November 5, (3:00 – 4:30 p.m.)

One Dog and His Boy by Eva Ibbotson in conjunction with the exhibit Dog Days: Portraits of a Man’s Best Friend.

When lonely, ten-year-old Hal learns that his healthy but neglectful parents only rented Fleck, the dog he always wanted, he and new friend Pippa take Fleck and four other dogs from the rental agency on a trek from London to Scotland, where Hal’s grandparents live.  In-person registration begins at the library on Oct. 7.  Books will be supplied at the time of registration at Emma Clark.

For more information regarding this book discussion, please email the Children’s Department at kids@emmaclark.org or call 631.941.4080 ext. 123.

We are honored to be The Long Island Museum’s Member of the Month!
