August 18 (9:30 am) – Gentle Yoga on the Lawn
In this series, taught by Jackie Incorvia, participants will be introduced to common standing poses, as well as breathing techniques & meditation. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a mat & towel. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be held on Zoom.

August 17 (7 pm) – Seals of New York from Rescue to Release
Join an educator from the New York Marine Rescue Center and learn about the different species of seals seen in New York waters. Learn about the best practices when observing seals in their natural environment, how human interaction can negatively affect them, common illnesses and injuries seen in their patients, and what goes into getting these animals back to health. You will also find out how you can get involved in helping to protect and preserve our local marine environment. Space is limited. After registering, you will receive an email confirming your spot.

Experience the many benefits of yoga in stabilizing and mobilizing the body, fortifying the respiratory system, and developing a calmer, clearer, more meditative and focused mind. All you need is a chair that doesn’t have arms (which may get in the way), and a strap, belt, or tie will come in handy (but is not necessary). Taught by Jackie Incorvia.

Carrots are a crunchy power food with numerous health benefits. Registered dieticians from Cornell Cooperative Extension will demonstrate how to prepare recipes using fresh local carrots and discuss how very versatile carrots are. Recipes will be provided.
