July 13 (7 pm) – Coastal Conservation

The Town of Brookhaven Environmental Educator, Nicole Pocchiare will teach you all about the Long Island Sound and water conservation. Learn about the different ecosystems, while discussing environmental concerns & solutions in restoring vital habitats on our shores. The lecture will be followed by an optional rain chain making activity for adults. Rain chains are an aesthetically pleasing way to divert storm water run-off while reclaiming rainwater for greener allocation. Registered participants interested in making a rain chain can submit a request for supplies by emailing Nanette Feder @ nanette@emmaclark.org starting June 28th. Supplies are limited. Kits not picked up within 3 days of an approved request will be offered to other registrants. This program is brought to you in part by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation with the Long Island Sound Study. Space is limited. After registering, you will receive an email confirming your spot.
