Art Classes and Art History

Calling all art lovers! You can create arts & crafts and learn about art through the Library. Both in-person and online, as well as daytime and evening options available. We have the following events and classes coming up in May and June:
Relax and Paint: Welcome to Capri! (Online)
Friday, May 2, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Follow along step-by-step with art instructor Teresa Grant and, using acrylic paints, create a beautiful Italian cliffside scene. Click here to register now.
Cricut: Bookmark (In-Person)
Tuesday, May 6, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Alcohol Ink Painting: Spring Flowers (In-Person)
Thursday, May 22, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. OR 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Discover the magic of using Alcohol Ink! Paint beautiful spring flowers using these fast drying, intensely pigmented, alcohol-based inks. No prior experience is needed. Led by artist/art educator Bonnie Schwartz. All supplies will be provided.

How to Look: The Dutch Golden Age of Painting (In-Person)
Tuesday, June 3, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Survey the art of the 17th century Dutch Republic with art historian Jay Schuck. Explore the different genres of painting through the works of Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer, Jacob van Ruisdael and more in this informative art history lecture. Click here to register starting 5/12
Whimsical Succulent Terrarium (In-Person)
