Shake n’ Make Music Saturday, May 3
10:30 – 11:15 a.m. Ages 3 – 5 years w/ caregiver.

Instrument Petting Zoo Saturday, May 10
10:30 – 11:15 a.m. Ages 3 – 8 years w/ caregiver.
Experience a hands-on introduction to musical instruments with the Staller Center for the Arts.  Click here to register starting 4/26.

Baby Boogie Saturday, May 17
10:00 – 10:45 a.m. Babies – 17 months old w/ caregiver.

Toddler Tango Saturday, May 17
11:00 – 11:45 a.m. 18 months – 4 years old w/ caregiver.

Exercise Classes

Get moving with the Library! This spring, we have Latin Ballroom Dancing, Hula Hooping on the Library lawn, plus some “old favorites.”

Latin Ballroom Dancing (In-Person)
Thursdays, May 1, 8, & 15, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Learn to dance the Rumba and the Cha-Cha with professional dancer and instructor Michelle Vicale. No experience necessary and no partner required. Registrants must be able to attend all three sessions. This class is made possible by the Philip Groia Global Studies bequest. Click here to register starting 4/28.


Simply Strong for Life (Hybrid – Zoom OR In-Person)

Tuesdays, May 6, 13, & 20, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Strength training can improve your quality of life at any age! Join us for this fitness class in which we will focus on increasing muscle strength, improving range of joint motion, and light stretching. This can all be done while standing or sitting. Taught by Joyce McCormack. Please bring light (2-5 lb.) weights to each class, wear good supportive shoes, dress in layers, and bring a water bottle.

Hula Hooping on the Library Lawn (In-Person)
Wednesday, May 28, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. OR Saturday, May 31, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Enjoy music and exercise on our beautiful Library Lawn! Hula hooping is a great way to improve strength, balance, and coordination. Best of all, hula hooping is a fantastic mood booster! Taught by Jeannie Pendergrass.  All skill levels are welcome, and the instructor will demonstrate optional seated modifications. Hula hoops will be provided – just bring a love of fun and some water!


Chair Yoga (Hybrid – Zoom OR In-Person)

Mondays, June 2, 9, & 16, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Experience the many benefits of chair yoga in stabilizing and mobilizing the body, fortifying the respiratory system, and developing a calmer, clearer, more meditative, and focused mind. Taught by Jackie Incorvia. A strap, belt, or tie will come in handy (but is not necessary).

Help Us Recycle & Earn a Bench

In collaboration with Suffolk Library System, we’re participating in the NexTrex Community Recycling Challenge. Simply deposit your plastic film (e.g. plastic bags, bread bags, etc.) in the bin located in the Library’s vestibule.
If our community collects & recycles 1,000+ pounds in a year, the Library will receive a free bench made from these materials!
