Upcoming Community Service programs for children:
“Take & Make” Painted Hearts Community Service Art Project (Grades 3 – 5)
Let your heart shine on canvas! Help us paint colorful hearts to be part of a beautiful, collaborative art project that celebrates creativity and community. Pick up your art kit (flat canvas, acrylic paint set and paintbrush) starting on Monday, February 2 and return your creative work of art by Sun., February 15. Participants will earn two hours of community service credit. Only one kit per child. Click here to reserve your child’s kit now.
Tabletop Smiles (Grades 3 – 5)
Wednesday, February 4 AND/OR Tuesday, February 24, 4:30–5:30 p.m.
Join us to make placemats filled with color, creativity, and kindness for people receiving meals from local charities and organizations. Come spread joy – one placemat at a time! Register for one or both. Participants will earn one hour of community service credit for each date they attend.

Volunteer at Hobbs Farm (Bethel Hobbs Farm, Centereach) (Grades 3 – 5) Due to recent extreme weather conditions that have affected the operation of the farm, this event is CANCELLED.
Tuesday, February 17, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (Winter Break)
Kids will be planting seeds in the farm’s greenhouse. Dress for a mess and for the weather! Participants will earn two hours of community service credit. In the event of extreme weather, this program may be rescheduled or cancelled. Please note this program is offsite and parents/caregivers (over the age of 18) must stay with their child at the farm.

Create for a Cause: Baby Bibs (Grades 3 – 5)
Wednesday, February 18, 4:00–5:00 p.m. (Winter Break)
Kids will hand-paint baby bibs with fun, colorful designs to be donated to families in need. It’s a creative way to have fun and make a difference! Participants will earn one hour of community service credit.

Birthday Banners & Cards (Grades 3 – 5)
Tuesday, March 3, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Help us make cheerful birthday banners and cards for kids who are spending their birthdays in the hospital. It’s a thoughtful way to spread joy and help them celebrate.

Tote Bags for Supply Drives (Grades 3 – 5)
Wednesday, March 11, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Join us for a fun and creative tote bag decorating session! Kids will get to design colorful, one-of-a-kind bags that will be used for Library supply drives. It’s a great way to get crafty and give back to the community!

Doodle Art Bookmarks for Senior Citizens (Grades 3 – 5)

Join us to make colorful, doodle art bookmarks for our “Senior Bus” patrons. It’s a simple, creative way to bring smiles and brighten someone’s day!

Congratulations Cards for Preschool Graduates (Grades 3 – 5)
Wednesday, April 22, 4:30–5:30 p.m. (School Closed)
Celebrate our littlest graduates with creativity! Kids will design bright and cheerful congratulations cards for local preschoolers moving up to kindergarten. It’s a fun way to spread smiles and celebrate big milestones!
