SRC Decoration Photos – Deadline 3/31

This summer’s theme is “Color Your World”, and we’re once again featuring the children of our community throughout our themed decorations!

To participate, we ask that you submit 3 headshots of your child.

  • Photos should be of babies to those entering 5th grade.
  • Please photograph your child wearing their favorite color. Shirts or dresses should be a solid color, free of patterns, graphics, and writing.
  • We will crop the photos of your child to include only their head, shoulders and mid chest.
  • Please no group photos. Each child’s picture should be as an individual.
  • All images that are used will be displayed for the entire year.

Photos should be emailed to kids@emmaclark.org. Please include the child’s full name and age. The deadline for submitting photos is Monday, March 31, 2025 (no photos will be accepted after this date).  

We ask that your photos look similar to these images:

Tips for taking your photos:
  • You may use a smartphone, however if you have a digital camera the print-outs will be clearer.
  • Please submit high-quality JPEG or TIFF files.
  • When taking photos:
    • Shoot full face including head, shoulders and mid chest.
    • The brighter the picture, the better.
    • If it’s a sunny day, shoot pictures in the shade to avoid shadow.
    • Take the picture with the sun behind the photographer.

Why should kids have all the fun?! Our Adult Summer Reading Challenge is back!

Adults are welcome to join this fantastic incentive to read… keep a memorable log of your books and enter to win prizes!

Each book you read earns a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize.

  1. Starting June 1, click here to register. Registration is ongoing throughout the summer. You don’t need to register by a certain date.
  2. You may use your computer or the Beanstack app (available on iTunes or Google Play stores). If you are unsure about how to do it online, call the Adult Reference Desk at 631.941.4080 ext.127 or visit us in the library for extra assistance. One of our friendly librarians will walk you through the registration process at our designated kiosk near the Adult Reference Desk.  
  3. Read books in any format! Audiobooks, ebooks, and print books all count.
  4. Log books in Beanstack from the comfort of your home or in person using our kiosk near the Reference Desk. For each book, you’ll be asked to write a quick, 1-3 sentence review telling us what you thought of the book.
  5. Earn one eTicket per book to enter raffles of your choice (see below for the list of raffle prizes). Each participant can earn a maximum of 10 eTickets for the summer.
  6. Summer Reading ends on Sunday, August 17. Winners will be drawn and contacted at the end of the summer!

Adult Summer Reading Raffle Prizes:

  • $50 gift card to Ben’s Garden
  • $50 gift certificate to The Jazz Loft
  • $25 gift card to Level Up Kitchen Library Cafe
  • 1 year dual/family membership to The Long Island Museum
  • $50 gift card to Schnitzels Gastropub
  • 1-year dual/family membership, $25 gift card, 2 books (Spies! and Setauket and Brookhaven History), 2 bookmarks, and 2 pencils from the Three Village Historical Society
