Celebrate the “Setauket Spies” – 9/9

Saturday, September 9, 2023 is Culper Spy Day from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. throughout Three Village – the result of a wonderful collaboration of entities who came together to create an event that highlights the amazing history behind George Washington’s Culper Spy Ring. The Three Village area is full of hidden intrigue and stories of how America’s first spy ring came together secretly to provide General George Washington the information he needed to turn the tide of the American Revolution.

Build Your Own Revolutionary War Story! Start at whatever location you want and go at your own pace. All are welcome to stop by. The event is rain or shine.  Specifically at the Library we’ll have:

– An information booth outside the front entrance.
– Display in the lobby of Revolutionary Military Paraphernalia items dating from the Revolutionary War period, which could have been used during the time of the Culper Spy Ring.
– Library materials related to the Culper Spy Ring.
Colonial Music with the Homegrown String Band will be playing on the Library Lawn from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Come sit and listen to traditional music and colonial songs, performed on guitar, banjo, dulcimer and mandolin.
Children’s “Spy-Themed” Craft and Games from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on the Library lawn.

Consult our interactive map at spyring.emmaclark.org to visit the places where history happened, or check out our list of recommended materials and websites to discover the facts behind this important story that took place right here during the Revolutionary War.

Culper Spy Day events are free and open to the public; no tickets required.  If you’d like view a schedule of all the events in the area, click here for the Three Village Historical Society’s information page.
