August 26 (7 pm) – The Early Fall Garden

Horticulturist Paul Levine will give tips on how to create the perfect fall garden including what to plant, where to plant, fertilizing and watering techniques. Some of the plants he will focus on include mums, asters, fall sedum and mountain daisies.

August 25 (9:30 am) – Gentle Yoga on the Lawn

In this series, taught by Jackie Incorvia, participants will be introduced to common standing poses, as well as breathing techniques & meditation. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a mat & towel. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be held on Zoom.

In 1874 a group of avant-garde artists defied the art world by putting on their own exhibition. These radicals changed the course of Art with their painterly approach that created “impressions” of what the eye actually sees instead of what the mind knows. Learn about monumental artists such as Monet, Manet, Renoir, Degas, Cassatt, Seurat, and more. This class is led by artist and professor, Christopher Vivas.

Join The Baking Coach and learn how to make avocado ice cream with simple ingredients. Also, learn how transform cookie dough into ice cream cups to serve along with your delicious ice cream.

August 18 (10 am – 12:30 pm) – One-on-One Medicare TELEPHONE Counseling HIICAP – Health Insurance Information Counseling & Assistance Program

A volunteer from the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be available for a phone appointment with any senior who needs help with Medicare health insurance forms or procedures. Half hour appointments can be scheduled between 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Morning appointments will be available on the third Wednesday of each month, and you can schedule up to two months in advance. To request an appointment, please contact Nanette Feder. She can be reached at nanette@emmaclark.org or by calling 631-941-4080, ext. 116. (These are telephone sessions, not Zoom sessions).
