Birding by the Beach

Rose-Breasted Grosbeak

Get outdoors! We’re hosting four birding walks at the beloved West Meadow Beach in May and June, taught by Town of Brookhaven Environmental Educator Nicole Pocchiare.

Long Island is a popular stop over and nesting area for many avian species. Explore the shoreline and salt marsh to observe and identify local bird species. We will observe and identify the fine feathered friends that thrive in our shorelines and coastal wetlands.

Meet at the pavilion at the beach. Please wear closed, comfortable shoes; binoculars and a field guide are recommended.

Friday, May 16, 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. OR 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
